Covington, Kentucky – (BUSINESS WIRE) - Kentucky based STEP CG has named Ed Walton, a 30 year industry veteran as CEO.  Walton replaces Rob Huff, founder of STEP CG, who is now President and Chief Revenue Officer of the fast-growing Northern Kentucky startup.

Walton moves to STEP CG from Cradlepoint where he was Vice President of Sales since 2017.  Walton joined Cradlepoint in 2015 as Head of North American Channels, Alliances and Distribution.  Prior to Cradlepoint, Walton was Global Strategic Accounts and Vertical Strategy Leader for Avaya Networking.

"It's exciting to be joining the STEP CG Team, who has a great culture, team and is one of the fastest growing IT solution providers in the Midwest," said Walton, “I’m here to help the company scale and take it to another level.”

"Ed brings proven industry experience, relationships and a stellar track record of building successful winning and fun cultures," said Rob Huff, Founder and President.  "Ed’s passion for customers, employees and the business are infectious.  I look forward to continuing our rapid growth and it’s very important to keep the same company culture while we continue to scale and invest in adding new talent to the team.”

For Walton, running a solution provider business as CEO was always part of his career plan.  "It’s been a goal of mine," he said.  "My experience being on the vendor and channel side has prepared me well for this role with STEP CG.  Building on the foundation for success and the great team already in place, I feel like I'm in a good position to make a difference.”
